How scoring works

Every pick is worth points. Score updates automatically as real match results come in.

Group stage

  • 2 pts for picking 1st place correctly
  • 1 pt for picking 2nd place correctly
  • 0.5 pts for picking 3rd place correctly
  • +1.5 bonus if all three are correct in the same group
  • 0 pts forever if you edit a group's picks (locked the moment you save the edit)

Late entries

Missed the opening window? Brackets created after June 12, 20:00 UTC are automatically classified as late entries. Here's how they differ:

  • Extended group edits: You can change any group pick freely until the first MD3 match kicks off anywhere — by then every group has played two full matchdays, so you get the same information as everyone else.
  • Hard group-stage cap: Each group is worth 2 pts only if you get all three positions exactly right. Otherwise you score 0 pts for that group. No partial credit, no bonus.
  • Same knockouts: From the Round of 32 onward the rules, points, and edit limits are identical to standard brackets.

Knockouts

Each match has two rewards: getting the matchup right (both teams advance to that match) and picking the winner.

RoundMatchupWinner
Round of 321 pt2 pts
Round of 162 pts3 pts
Quarter-finals3 pts4 pts
Semi-finals4 pts5 pts
3rd-place playoff2 pts3 pts
Final6 pts9 pts

Champion bonus: +5 pts if you pick the eventual champion correctly — even if you got the final matchup wrong. So calling the entire final perfectly = 6 + 9 + 5 = 20 pts.

Edits & lockouts

  • Standard brackets: edits to a group are allowed once, but the group is then locked at 0 pts.
  • Late entries: group picks are editable freely until the global MD3 deadline, but group-stage scoring is capped (see Late entries above). After that deadline all groups lock simultaneously.
  • Knockout match edits are capped at 5 total. Each one incurs a penalty:
    • R32 edit: −2 pts
    • R16 edit: −3 pts
    • QF edit: −4 pts
  • Semi-finals and Final picks cannot be edited at all.
  • Any pick is automatically locked once the match's kickoff time passes.
